My name is John, and I am a formally trained photographer and I love what I do. My style is mostly informal and documentary, which ensures I capture moments that will captivate your heart. My journey into photography was driven by a fascination with light and authentic human connection, which means I anticipate those fleeting glances and unscripted moments.
On the day, John works as the principal photographer, but he will use an assistant (for bigger events) as well as a trained videographer for main video work or BTS footage. We offer full in-house video editing services too.
JvD Photography also has a fully equipped studio if you're in need of a modelling portfolio, corporate headshots, or the weather is bad for that lifestyle photoshoot you had planned...

At JvD Photography we know that planning a wedding is costly, but we also know that years from now, having cherished memories you can feel will be one of the few ways you will still remember that special day. That is why we focus on documenting the genuine laughter, tears and intimate connections of your day. Not just taking photos. Our standard package is for a full day of wedding photography. This means the photographer is with you from "make and hair" to your first dance. Our package includes a 4-6 minute fully edited highlights video and between 300 to 350 fully edited images. The cost for a full day package is R21 500.
This price is per hour and includes on-location or in-home photo sessions. The price is inclusive of travelling and post editing. All images are in high resolution digital format and will be sent to you via a WeTransfer link, for download. From a typical 1 hour session you can expect between 20-25 fully edited images.
This price is for a 1 hour in studio photoshoot, and allows for up to three different outfit changes. The studio is in a safe upmarket complex and has a bathroom and a room for changing etc. The studio is fully equipped with professional lighting, so whether you need a modelling portfolio or just some headshots for your business profile, JvD Photography will deliver professional results.
